Interstate Compact

The State Board of Pardons and Paroles Interstate Compact Unit is one of the most efficient in the nation. The unit is responsible for overseeing the placement and transfer of all parolees into and out of the state of Georgia. In addition to arranging supervision of transferring parolees, the unit also is responsible for responding to violations, handling extraditions and responding to victims needs. The unit also maintains the files of all the Conditional Transfers to Federal, out-of-state, and Immigration and Naturalization Service Detainers.

     

Georgia Parole is a member to the Parole and Probation Compact Administrators’ Association (PPCAA). (http://www.doc.state.ok.us/ppcaa/) This organization is responsible for creating and maintaining the rules of the Interstate Compact Agreement. The PPCAA is comprised of all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Georgia Parole’s Interstate Compact Administrator, Joe Kuebler, was chosen by compact administrators across the nation to receive the Probation and Parole Compact Administrators’ Association’s prestigious William L. Frederick’s Award for 2001.
